하나님의 말씀을 최우선에 두라

그러나 당신이 내 말을 제대로 이해한다면 당신에게 새로운 계시가 될 것이다. 잘 알다시피 성경은 교과서나 설화나 역사책이 아니다. 그것은 삶의 지침서다. 그것은 당신이 매일 살면서 삶에 적용할 수 있는 전능한 하나님의 지혜를 기록한 것이다.

하나님께서는 지혜가 제일이라고 말씀하신다. 제일이라는 것은 중요도에 있어 첫째간다는 뜻이다. 다시 말해서 하나님의 말씀이 당신의 모든 활동에 있어 가장 중요한 자리를 차지해야 한다는 뜻이다. 그렇 게 하는 것이 얼마나 중요한 영향을 주는지 나는 경험을 통하여 배웠다.

20년 전 나는 복음서와 사도행전을 30일 동안 세 번 읽기로 결심하였다. 그 당시 나는 어린 아이 둘을 데리고 바로 이사한 직후 여서 집안은 엉망이 되어있었다. 그러므로 내가 어떻게 성경말씀을 그렇게 많이 읽으면서 모든 집안 일을 해낼 수 있을지 불가능해 보였다. 그러나 나는 다른 일을 다 미루고 일단 시작하였다.

놀랍게도 첫날의 결과는 다른 정상적인 날 보다도 더 많은 일을 할 수 있었다. 30일이 지나자 나는 복음서와 사도행전을 세 번 읽었을 뿐 아니라 집안 일을 다 해내었고 아이들을 돌보아 주었으며 가구 몇 개를 새로 단장할 수 있었다. 뜻밖의 일이었다.

당신도 하나님의 말씀을 최우선에 두면 당신의 삶에 놀라운 일이 일어날 것이다. 당신이 시간이 있다고 생각될 때까지 미루지 말 것을 당부한다. 그러한 시간은 오지 않을 것이다.

무조건 말씀을 붙잡고 다른 일들은 옆으로 밀어두라. 당신의 시간을 말씀에 가장 먼저 투자하라. 그러면 당신의 삶의 모든 영역에서 투자에 대한 이윤을 얻을 것이다.

성경본문: 잠언 3:1-9

내 아들아 나의 법을 잊어버리지 말고 네 마음으로 나의 명령을 지키라
그리하면 그것이 너로 장수하여 많은 해를 누리게 하며 평강을 더하게 하리라
인자와 진리로 네게서 떠나지 않게 하고 그것을 네 목에 매며 네 마음판에 새기라
그리하면 네가 하나님과 사람 앞에서 은총과 귀중히 여김을 받으리라
너는 마음을 다하여 여호와를 의뢰하고 네 명철을 의지하지 말라
너는 범사에 그를 인정하라 그리하면 네 길을 지도하시리라
스스로 지혜롭게 여기지 말지어다 여호와를 경외하며 악을 떠날지어다
이것이 네 몸에 양약이 되어 네 골수로 윤택하게 하리라
네 재물과 네 소산물의 처음 익은 열매로 여호와를 공경하라

Put First the Word
\" For skillful and godly Wisdom is the principal thing.... Prize Wisdom highly and exalt her, and she will exalt and promote you; she will bring you to honor when you embrace her.\"(Proverbs 4:7-8, The Amplified Bible)




I want to tell you the onl　y real secret to getting ahead in this world. It\'s simple. Put the Word of God first place in your daily life.

\"Well,\" you may be saying, \"I\'ve heard that before. It\'s no secret.\" But when you understand what I mean, it could be a revelation to you.

You see, the Bible is not just a textbook, a storybook, or a history book. It\'s a handbook for living. It\'s the wisdom of Almighty God written down so that you can apply it to your everyday circumstances.

God says that wisdom is the \"principal thing.\" Principal means \"first in importance.\" That means the Word of God needs to occupy the place of highest importance in all of your activities. I know from experience what an impact that can have on your life.

Twenty years ago I decided to read the gospels and the book of Acts three times in 30 days. It seemed an impossible task at the time. With two small children and my house turned upside down from a recent move, I couldn\'t see how I could possibly spend that much time reading the Word and still get everything done. But I set myself to put other things aside and do it anyway.

Surprisingly enough, at the end of the first day I had accomplished more than I would have under normal circumstances. And by the end of that 30 days, I\'d not onl　y read the gospels and Acts three times, I\'d kept all my housework done, taken care of my children, and refinished several pieces of furniture to boot! I was amazed.

You\'ll be amazed at what happens in your life too, if you give God\'s Word priority. But let me warn you, don\'t wait until you think you have the time. Satan will see to it that you never do.

Just do like I did and set other things aside. Invest your time in the Word first and that investment will soon be paying off in every area of your life.
